The work
The problem
The same sweets are sold two ways: over the counter and, increasingly, online. Billing a walk-in customer and taking an internet order were separate problems with separate records, and neither answered what had actually sold, what was left, or what it earned.
What I built
Three surfaces over one Laravel backend, joined by REST APIs. The storefront sells by category — shrikhand, mattho, rabdi, lassi, milk-based and desi ghee sweets — with product pages, ratings and reviews, wishlist, cart, and a three-step cart, address and payment checkout that itemises delivery charge and GST before it asks for money. The employee app is a counter till: barcode scan or category search, a cart built line by line with quantity steppers, running subtotal, tax and total, then print bill or place order, over a bills history and a staff profile. The admin panel carries employee, customer, category and product management, manufacturing and purchase, and separate queues for app orders and admin orders, above a dashboard of sales reports, top sellers, stock status and transactions.
The context
June 2023 · Taking the lead
When I joined, the core team was very small — the CEO, one UI/UX designer and myself. Together we started building the foundation for a more structured and fully functioning software development company.
My role was no longer limited to development.
Across these projects my frontend experience expanded significantly, while my backend work continued to focus heavily on PHP, Laravel, MySQL and REST APIs.
